Punjab Technical University (PTU) was established on 16th January 1997 to promote Technical, Management and Pharmaceutical education in the state. The University has the mandate to set up Centres of Excellence in Emerging Technologies for promoting research and development through its various programme under Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The University also has a mission to provide excellent education to the students.

PTU started setting up its own Centres of Excellence and Punjab Institutes of Technology for promoting quality education and research. Keeping this in mind,University last year organized a successful National Conference on the same title.Contributing further,this year PTU is going to organize an international conference on Advancements and Futuristic Trends in Mechanical and Materials Engineering, which will offer a wealth of resources regarding mechanical materials and processes. This conference will include invited talks, oral presentations and poster presentations. Scheduled presentations will be from leaders in their respective fields from around the World. Organizations participating in this event include Universities/Institutions, Researchers/Scientists, Manufacturers, Suppliers and Research & Development Organizations. This conference will provide opportunities for the delegates to exchange new ideas and experiences face to face, to establish business or research relations and to find global partners for future collaborations to promote research. Submitted conference papers will be reviewed by technical committees of the conference.

This conference will help the faculty members and young engineers / scientists to upgrade their technical expertise and confidence. Moreover they will get an opportunity to explore the work being carried out in foreign Universities and Institutions along with requirements of industry globally.Learning is a key driver in professional education.
